Endorsing the views of All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) against the Uniform Civil Code, the Federation of District Jamaaths and All Muslim Organisations today said that it will start signature campaign tomorrow against the Centre's move on the matter.

When Muslims across India were bound by every law, including IPC and other acts, where was the need to bring in a common code, which deprived the community from practicing the religious rights and freedom, Federation convenor, Inayatullah told reporters here.

There were some practices and methods, which gave the community a separate identity and almost all Muslims were opposing to dilute their rights, he said.

The main purpose of this new law was "to divide the people on religious line and take political mileage", he alleged.
