Press Trust of India Jammu
Sikh organisations today protested here against a picture published in a local magazine, describing it as objectionable to the community.

The protesters, under the banner of United Sikh Council (USC), alleged that there was a deliberate attempt to create a wedge between the minorities and the majority community of the state.

Referring to a picture published along side an article in a local English magazine, USC chairman Kuldeep Singh said the picture was objectionable to the community and alleged that it promoted conversion of Sikh girls.

The USC leader alleged that after the ouster of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley, the anti-national elements were now trying to force the Sikh community out of Kashmir.

"We demand that an inquiry commission be constituted and they should submit a complete report in this regard with 30 days," Singh said.
