Sikkim receives two 'Swachh Bharat' awards

Sikkim received two awards at the Swachh Bharat Diwas function organised by the Union Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, a state government release said Wednesday.

Sikkim was awarded the first prize in the 'Cleanest State' category for the North-East region at the 'Swachh Bharat Puraskar 2018' awards. The award were given by Union Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation, Uma Bharti at the function on Tuesday, the release said.

The East District of Sikkim received the third prize in the 'Cleanest District' category for the North-East region, it added.
