Taking positive cues from global market, silver prices moved up by 0.49 per cent to Rs 39,900 per kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month September rose by Rs 195, or 0.49 per cent to Rs 39,900 per kg in business turnover of 99 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in July contracts traded higher by Rs 183, or 0.47 per cent to Rs 39,349 per kg in 8,496 lots.

Analysts said speculators enlarged positions on the back of firming global trend mainly led to the rise in silver prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver climbed 0.7 per cent to USD 17.28 an ounce in London.
