Press Trust of India New Delhi
Silver prices moved down by 0.25 per cent to Rs 42,351 per kg at the futures market in the evening session today as speculators booked profits even as the metal strengthened overseas.

The exchange remained closed for the morning session on account of "Diwali Balipratipada".

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December declined by Rs 108, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 42,351 per kg, in a business turnover of 486 lots.

Likewise, the white metal for delivery in March traded lower by Rs 110, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 43,054 per kg in one lot.

Analysts attributed the fall in silver futures to profit booking by participants.

Globally, silver rose 0.14 per cent to USD 17.75 an ounce in London.
