Silver prices plunged by Rs 209 to Rs 36,685 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced their bets, tracking a weak trend overseas.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, silver prices for delivery in March 2016 was trading lower by Rs 209, or 0.57 per cent, to Rs 36,685 per kg in business turnover of 517 lots.
Similarly, the white metal prices for delivery in December contract slumped by Rs 151, or 0.42 per cent, to Rs 36,040 per kg in a business volume of 7,985 lots.

In the international market, silver fell 0.62 per cent at at 15.31 an ounce in London.
Analysts attributed the fall in silver prices in futures trade to a weak trend in global markets.
