Silver prices spurted by Rs 131 to Rs 41,040 per kg in futures trade today as speculators built up positions amid a higher global trend.
In futures trading at the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for May was trading higher by Rs 131, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 41,040 per kg in a business turnover of 473 lots.
Also, the white metal for delivery in July was up by Rs 126, or 0.30 per cent, to Rs 41,537 per kg in 9 lots.

Analysts said, speculators created fresh positions in tune with higher global trend which influenced silver futures prices here.
Meanwhile, silver rose 0.35 per cent to USD 17.43 an ounce in Singapore today.
