Jharkhand Cabinet today decided to recommend JMM MLA Simon Marandi as the Protem Speaker following the resignation of C P Singh as Assembly Speaker.
The decision to recommend the Litipara MLA to Governor Syed Ahmed was taken at the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Principal Cabinet Secretary J B Tubid told reporters here.
Tubid said in a reschedule of the July 25 business of the special session, election of Speaker would be taken up first and then the governor would address the House.
Singh resigned yesterday after conducting the House on July 18 when the Soren-led government sailed through the trust vote.
