Six held for gambling in Punjab

Police today arrested six persons on charges of gambling under the garb of running lotteries from here.

Acting on a tip-off, the accused were arrested from different locations, including a bus stand here, police said.

They said that their arrest was made under sections 13-A - 3/67 (enhanced punishment if offence under section 13 relates to gaming with figures, etc) of the Gambling Act.

Police said that Rs 2,700 was seized from them.

Those arrested included Parshotam Lal, Mohinder Sharma, Rohit, Ravi Kumar, Vikas Kumar and Meil Handa, police said.
