Six held for gang rape bid

A 14-year-old girl foiled an

attempt of gang-rape on her by six youths which led to their arrest, police said today.

The incident occurred near Chunchanakotagutta late last night, said police sub-inspector Santhosam Ravinder.

He said the girl raised an alarm which alerted villagers who rushed to her help and rescued her in time.

They thrashed the youths before handing them over to police, Ravinder added.

They are booked under various sections of the IPC and Nirbhaya Act.
