Six Maoists were today arrested and firearms were recovered from them from separate places in Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Kanker district, police said.
Four cadres were apprehended from the forests of Raoghat police station area, while two others were nabbed from Tadoki police station area, Kanker Superintendent of Police R N Dash told PTI.
A joint squad of district force and BSF (Border Security Force) was on an anti-naxal operation 'Green Fire' in the forests of Raoghat, located around 250 kms away from the state capital.

During the operation, the rebels were nabbed while they were keeping a tab on the movement of security forces and seized three muzzle loading guns from their possession.
Those held were identified as Massuram Uike (33), Chamraram (35), Sukaluram (35) and Raijuram Hidko (36), the SP said.
In another operation by BSF and a team of local police, two ultras identified as Mangalsingh Gawde (27) and Gulab Singh Nureti (35) were nabbed from Tadoki forests.
The arrested naxals were involved in several incidents of crimes, including loot, arson, torching vehicles and attacks on police party, the SP added.
