Six persons killed by rampaging elephant

Six persons were killed by an elephant which went on a rampage in Arunachal Pradesh's West Siang district bordering Assam's Dhemaji district, the police said.

A domestic elephant, belonging to a resident of Likabali in the neighbouring state, went on a rampage and killed six labourers engaged in road construction in Dipa Chimen Chapori area this morning.

The forest department was informed about the animal but they could not bring the elephant under control and later shot dead the pachyderm.
