Six taken into custody for abducting student

Six persons,including four college students,were taken into custody today for allegedly abducting another student and demanding Rs five lakh ransom from his parents.

The student however was rescued from near Malumichampatti on the outskirts of the city by police, who acted on a complaint from his parents.

Police said that premilinary inquiries revealed that the student had cheated some persons of money

The students, along with two IT professionals then hatched the plan to get back the amount.

A search was on for three others allegedly involved in the abduction, they said.
