Six women were arrested from a lodge in Jaora town of the district yesterday on charge of trafficking after a 19-year-old tribal woman was rescued from there, the police said today.
"On a tip-off, we arrested six women last evening and rescued a 19-year old tribal woman from a lodge at Hussain Tekri area in Jaora," Mandsaur Superintendent of Police Amit Singh said.
He said the six women were fixing a deal to sell the tribal woman for Rs 2.5 lakh when they were apprehended.

The arrested accused have been identified as Tulsibai Bheel, Sangeeta, Kupabai Damor, Leelabai Bagri, Rukhsana Multani and Savita Katara, the officer said, adding that the police are looking for a man who is absconding.
"The women were booked under relevant sections of the IPC, including trafficking. We are questioning them to trace other members of this gang," Singh added.
