A six-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed to death by unidentified persons at Baragadia in Jajpur district.
Though the incident occurred yesterday afternoon, it was reported to police last night, police said today.
The deceased has been identified as Suraj Choudhury, son of Soham Choudhury, a resident of Samastipur in neighbouring Bihar state.

Soham sells 'gupchup' in Jajpur road area in the district. Soham was out of home when the incident took place. Loal people spotted the boy lying in a pit near Baragadia village in a critical condition with multiple injuries on the body.
They then telephoned Soham about the incident following which the later reached the spot. He found his son lying in a in a critical condition with multiple injuries on the body. The throat of the boy was also found silted, according to FIR.
The child was immediately rushed to Danagadi Community centre where doctors referred him to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
However, the boy succumbed on the way to Cuttack.
A minor boy was detained in this regard and being interrogated, Kalinga Nagar police said.
"We have detained a 12-year-old boy in connection with the crime and interrogating him," said R L Panda, Inspector-in-Charge of Kalinga Nagar police station.
