The mortal remains of CRPF Inspector Jagjit Singh, killed by Maoists in Sukma of Chhattisgarh yesterday along with eleven other personnel, was cremated with full state honours at his Kotla Sarf village in the district today.
Singh was posted with 19 Battalion of CRPF in 2002 and deployed in Chhatishgarh where he was killed by militants on Saturday.
Singh is survived by his widow Rashpal Kaur and two sons Gurnoor Singh and Shahvaaz.

Deputy Commissioner Pardeep Aggarwal, SSP Batala Deepak Hilory, DIG CRPF S S Gohar, DSP CRPF Romi Devi, S P (Headquarters) Dilbag Singh and other police and civil officers placed wreaths and a contingent of Punjab police paid their tribute by reversing their arms and opening fire into the air.
Singh's elder brother Daljit Singh lit the pyre.
