Small sugar prices moved down in an otherwise lacklustre Vashi wholesale market here today due to sluggish demand from bulk consumers coupled with adequate stock positions.
While, medium variety showed a mixed pattern of trading owing to alternate bouts of buying and selling.
Small sugar (S-30) slipped by Rs 10/12 per quintal to Rs 2,682/2,800 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 2,692/ 2,812.
Medium sugar (M-30), however was quoted at Rs 2,802/ 2,956 per quintal, as compared with Rs 2,806/2,952 previously.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,682/2,800 (Rs 2,692/2,812.
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,802/2,956 (Rs 2,806/2,952).
