Small sugar edges up on stray demand

Small sugar prices edged up at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to stray demand from bulk consumers.

While, medium sugar ruled stable in the absence of any worthwhile buying.

Small sugar (M-30) inched-up by Rs 2 per quintal to Rs 2,880/2,995 from Monday's closing level of Rs 2,880/2,993.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,880/2,995 (Rs 2,880/2,993).

Medium sugar(M-30) quality: Rs 3,012/3,232 (Rs 3,012/3,232).
