Small sugar slumps on lower demand

Small sugar prices slumped at the Vashi wholesale market here today following lower demand from millers and bulk consumers.

While, medium sugar prices showed a mixed pattern of trade owing to alternate bouts of buying and selling.

Small sugar (S-30) dipped by Rs 6/153 per quintal to Rs 3,586/3,672 from Monday's close of Rs 3,592/3,825.

However, medium sugar (M-30) quoted at Rs 3,680/3,952 as against Rs 3,682/3,936 yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,586/3,672 (Rs 3,592/3,825).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,680/3,952 (Rs 3,682/3,936).
