A small-time Tollywood actor, Uday Kiran, was today arrested on charge of attempt to murder for allegedly assaulting an employee at a hotel in Jubilee Hills area here, police said.
Uday allegedly damaged windowpane at the hotel in an inebriated state, got into an argument with the hotel staff and attacked one worker on Wednesday night, Assistant Commissioner of Police Uday Kumar Reddy said.
He has also been booked on charges of trespass and mischief causing loss or damage, under relevant sections of IPC.
"The hotel management lodged a complaint, after which he was detained yesterday and subsequently placed under arrest. He was later sent to judicial remand," Jubilee Hills Police Station Inspector S Venkat Reddy said.
