Socialite Olivia Palermo gets engaged to longtime partner

American socialite Olivia Palermo is engaged to her longtime boyfriend Johannes Huebl after he proposed on the the New Year's Eve.

The 27-year-old fashion designer's boyfriend took to his Instagram to share the happy news.

Huebl also uploaded a video of his wife-to-be twirling around a palm tree to reveal her engagement ring.

"Happy New Year to everybody and this is how we celebrate it: OP said YES," read the caption to the clip.

Johannes has previously said he and Olivia have an "old romantic" approach to their relationship.
