Solar biomass integratred drying system developed

A Solar-Biomass Integrated Dryer, for continuous drying of agro products, has been developed by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU).

This had been developed since the existing method of agro products drying in open sun and solar tunnel dryer could be used only during sunny days, a release from Department of Bioenergy, Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute of TNAU, said today.

The purpose of the dryer was effective for continuous drying of agro products such as coconut and chilli and other food products related to drying at temperature of 60 degree Celcius, it said.
