IT services firm Sonata Software today said it has opened a new software development facility in Redmond, Washington (the US).
The centre was inaugurated by City Council President Hank Margeson.
"The centre is part of Sonata's strategy to be a truly global company and will help Sonata serve its clients better in an increasingly changing global delivery model that demands closer interaction with clients," the company said in a release.
Sonata is expanding its existing talent in US operations with this facility to over 100 employees, to better service the needs of its long standing customers.
In a bid to provide quality career opportunities locally, the firm has started recruiting talent from the University of Washington and Washington State University through its LEAD programme.
The programme combines an Earn-as-you-Learn paid training phase in emerging new technology areas, with subsequent opportunities to work on projects with marquee clients.
