The language of a few re-tweets by social media wing of All India Radio's News Services Division, after India beat Pakistan in World Cup cricket match, were not suitable for public broadcasting following which the standard operating procedures have been revised, the government said today.

In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore said the "person who was dealing with social media in News Services Division of All India Radio (AIR) on February 15, 2015 has been warned by Prasar Bharati not to use such language over social media."

Rathore also said the unsuitable tweets were removed immediately.

"The Standard Operating Procedure for use in social media wing of the News Service Division (NSD) was further reviewed and revised," he added.
