Soren welcomes Bharat Ratna for Sachin

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today said the Centre had honoured the people's desire by bestowing Bharat Ratna on Sachin Tendulkar.

"It's a welcome decision to confer Bharat Ratna on Sachin Tendulkar as it met the desire of the people," Soren said here.

Asked whether former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee also deserved the nation's highest civilian award, Soren said "Vajpayee is a tall leader and a proper decision should be taken keeping in mind the sentiments of the people.
