Soyabean, coconut oils slide on muted demand

Soyabean oil prices eased by Rs 50 per quintal at the the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today following subdued demand from retailers coupled with sufficient stocks position.

Coconut oil also drifted lower on lack of demand from retailers along with subdued outside advices.

However, linseed oil in the non-edible section, went up on pick up in demand from consuming industries.

Traders said sluggish demand from retailers against ample stocks position led to the decline in soyabean and coconut oil prices.

In the national capital, soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) and soyabean degum (Kandla) oils declined by Rs 50 each to Rs 6,700 and Rs 6,400 per quintal, respectively.
 

Coconut oil also eased by Rs 50 to Rs 1,550-1,600 per tin.

On the other hand, linseed oil in the non-edible section, rose by Rs 50 to Rs 9,700 per quintal on increased demand from paint industries.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):

Oilseeds: Mustard seed Rs 2,950-3,050 and Groundnut seed Rs 2,150-2,900. Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) Rs 800-1,000.

Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) Rs 11,100, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) Rs 1,900-1,950, Mustard expeller (Dadri) Rs 8,100, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,300-1,350, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,350-1,450, Sesame Mill delivery Rs 7,600, Soybean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) Rs 6,700, Soybean Degum (Kandla) Rs 6,400, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) Rs 4,300, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) Rs 6,000, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 5,800, Palmolein (Kandla) Rs 5,850 and Coconut (per tin) Rs 1,550-1,600.

Non-edible oils: Linseed Rs 9,700, Castor Rs 9,500-9,600, Neem Rs 5,350-5,450.
