West Bengal Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee today expunged the comments made by Deputy Speaker Sonali Guha, for which she had courted controversy.

Deputy Speaker of West Bengal Assembly Sonali Guha on September 23 stroked a controversy, saying that sending goons to a poll-bound area was a "trick" learnt from the Left Front, which had left the Opposition fuming.

Banerjee today said that those comments of the Deputy Speaker will be expunged from the Assembly proceedings.

Last week when CPI(M) MLA Gouranga Chatterjee mentioned in the Assembly that TMC was dispatching goons to Asansol in Burdwan district from Bankura and Purulia districts to create violence before the October 3 election to Asansol Municipal Corporation, Guha, who was then on the Speaker's seat, had shot back saying, "These tricks have been learnt from you people (Left Front) in three decades. History repeats itself.
