Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's demand for special status was an "election stunt" and it was not possible for the Central government to deliver the same to it as many other states were seeking similar status, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Tariq Anwar said today.
"Nitish's chorus for special status for Bihar is an election stunt with an aim to garner votes in the next general elections and the subsequent Assembly polls in the state," the NCP leader said at a function in Gaya district.
NDA was harping on the high growth rate in the state during its rule, which was not true, he said.
Rejecting the special status demand downright, the Union Minister said it was not possible for the Central government to concede the demand for Bihar as many other states were making similar calls for years.
