SpiceJet today announced new flights on four high-density sectors, including Delhi-Lucknow and Bangalore-Hyderabad, from Sunday following growing demand.

The new flights, effective June 15, would add capacity on the Bangalore-Mangalore, Chennai-Madurai, Bangalore-Hyderabad and Delhi-Lucknow sectors and all of them would be served by 189-seater full-economy Boeing 737 airplanes, the no-frill airline said in a statement.

On the Bangalore-Mangalore route, SpiceJet would introduce a daily new flight, deploying Boeing aircraft in addition to the existing flight being operated with 78-seater Bombardier Q400 plane.

A new day-return flight on Delhi-Lucknow route would be launched to fly daily, except on Saturdays. This new addition will make SpiceJet the first departing airline from Lucknow as well as Delhi, the statement said, adding it would also add a flight on the Chennai-Madurai sector.

The no-frill carrier's Chief Commercial Officer Kaneswaran Avili was quoted as saying, "We have seen good demand on these routes and to fulfil it, we are adding new capacities on these sectors.
