More than 51,000 employees of Wipro group along with their families, friends and customers today participated in 'Spirit of Wipro Run' held in 97 cities across the world aiming to raise funds for charity.
"The run, organised by the IT-BPO arm of the group, has received overwhelming response to the annual run in Singapore and other cities," said Wipro Limited Head of Marketing for Asia Pacific & Japan, Siddharth Nair, after the run was flagged off along the east coast beach of the city state.
The run began in Melbourne and Sydney and were continued in other global cities as well as Wipro IT Centres in India, he said.

The move, eighth in its annual series, aims to raise funds which would be used to support charitable organisations, Nair said, adding that it is the world's single large employee engagement in sports, fun, social and charitable work.
The runs would continue in European cities and be completed in the United States.
Nair said the run routes were especially drawn taking in every city major recreational points as in Singapore, it was on the beach side, in Africa it would be through zoos and in Japan it was across a bridge over the Ocean.
The Singapore run had more than 1,000 participants, including children, and was flagged off by Manoj Nagpaul, Wipro's chief sales and operations officer for Asia Pacific & Japan.
Thirty per cent of the participants in the Singapore run were non-Indians, said Nair, underlining the importance of having global community representation in the annual charitable event, reflecting Wipro's global reach.
