Srei Kolkata Marathon to have timing chips

The eighth edition of Srei Kolkata Marathon 2015 will be held on February 8 which will have timing chips available to the participants of the main Marathon and the 15 Km race.

For the first time since inception, the Srei Kolkata Marathon, promoted by Srei Infrastructure Finance Limited, would have timing chips available to the participants of the main Marathon and the 15 Km race, a Srei release said.

The Srei Kolkata Marathon was the official Kolkata Marathon and only marathon in the country that exclusively promoted Indian athletes in the main marathon, it said.

The race categories include the Main Marathon (for Men) - 42.195 km, 15 Km (for Men and Women - prize money only for women) and the fun run of 5 km. The total prize money is Rs 10 lakh.
