Kolla Appanna, a member of Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency, was murdered at Tekkali in the district this afternoon, police said.
Police said they suspected it to be a case of a revenge killing, a fall-out of political rivalry within the same family.
Some associates of Appanna (44) had killed Kolla Chandra Rao, former sarpanch of Tekkali, who belonged to the same clan as Appanna, about one year back.
People from Chandra Rao's faction allegedly stabbed Appanna today, police said. Probe is on.
