A student of an aided-school here
was dismissed on charges of lying unconscious in an inebriated condition wearing the school uniform at the local bus stand on January 27, officials said.
The picture of the boy, in school uniform, was carried in news dailies and various social media leading to a public debate on the impact of "TASMAC (Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation) Shop" which has a monopoly over wholesale and retail vending of alcoholic beverages in the state.

As the news was widely discussed in the social media, school authorities summoned the boy and his parents yesterday and enquired about the boy.
Later they dismissed him from the school for being in an inebriated condition,wearing school uniform,and being irregular in coming to school, officials said.
The District education officer Rajendran told newsmen today that the parents of the student took the transfer certificate from the school after he was dismissed.
