Students protest demanding free laptops; gherao Collector

Salem district collector V.Sampath, travelling in his car, was gheraoed by girl students at the collectorate, police said

Some 500 plus two girl students of two government aided private schools staged the protest claiming that free laptops under a government scheme were not distributed to them, till today.

They dispersed after the Collector assured them that free laptops would be given.
