The strike by students of Forest College and Research Institute demanding reservation in jobs entered the 14th day today.

The students are on sit-in dharna in the campus in Mettupalayam near here and were indulging in novel protests to bring to the notice of the authorities on their plight since January 27, when the college was closed from that day, police said.

The students staged a protest today by hitting themselves with chappals for choosing the course.

They want preference for the forestry graduates in the appointment of foresters and rangers and also increase the reservation to 100 per cent, which was reduced to 25 per cent last year.

A section of the students hung placards on their heads, with a big question mark written on them, symbolising that their future is also a question mark.
