Describing actress Suchitra Sen as beauty, talent and grace personified, leading NRI industrialist Lord Swraj Paul has said her demise is a great loss to the film world.
"Suchitra Sen was not only known in Bengali film industry but also in the international cinema. She is beauty, talent and grace personified. She lived in the minds of people and remembered for her beautiful smile and the aura," Lord Paul said.
Sen, 82, died in Kolkata yesterday over three weeks after she was hospitalised for a respiratory infection. She died of heart failure.
She acted in over 50 Bengali movies like 'Saat Paake Bandha','Agnipariksha', 'Saptapadi' and 'Deep Jwele Jai'. She also made her mark in Bollywood movies like 'Devdas' and 'Aandhi'.
