Sudden high voltage rush kills one, injures two women

A man was today killed and two women were injured after they allegedly came in direct contact with a sudden rush of high voltage at their residences in Dhari village of Pauri district here, police said today.

The victims were electrocuted after a sudden burst of electric voltage was transmitted to the residences in their village, according to Uttarakhand Urja Nigam Spokesperson, Madhusudan.

The deceased was identified as Madan Singh while those injured as Shashi Devi and Anjani Devi.

A team headed by Joint Director General level official has been sent to ascertain the exact cause of the incident and submit its report by tomorrow, the officer said.
 

The compensation will be given to the deceased's family if negligence is found on the part of the Urja Nigam, they said.
