A top official of a sugar company allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his office in Basheer Bagh area here, police said.
General Manager of Nizam Sugars Limited, M J R Sarma (59), committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan inside a room of his office last night, they said.
Some local residents informed the police about the incident. "Police broke open the door and found the victim hanging from the ceiling fan," Saifabad Police Station Inspector P Ashok said.
His colleagues in the office told the police that he could have taken this extreme step due to work pressure.
He had retired from his position three years back, but had been again asked to continue, police said.
