Sugar declines on low demand

Prices of both the varieties of sugar declined at the Vashi wholesale market here today following lower demand from stockists and bulk consumers.

Small sugar (S-30) went down by Rs 20/50 per quintal to Rs 3,120/3,242 from Monday's closing level of Rs 3,140/3,292.

Medium sugar (M-30) also fell by Rs 34 per quintal to Rs 3,176/3,442 per quintal as compared to its yesterday's level of Rs 3,210/3,442.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,120/3,242 (Rs 3,140/3,292).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,176/3,442 (Rs 3,210/3,442).
