Sugar falls on ample supply, weak demand

The wholesale sugar prices fell by Rs 50 per quintal in the national capital today following ample supply from mills and reduced offtake.

Marketmen said selling by mills against reduced offtake by stockist and bulk consumers such as soft-drink and ice-cream makers mainly brought the sweetener prices down.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices enquired lower at Rs 2,950-3,200 and Rs 2,940-3,190 from Rs 2,960-3,250 and Rs 2,950-3,240 per quintal.

Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices quoted lower at Rs 2,750-3,060 and Rs 2,740-3,050 instead of Rs 2,770-3,090 and Rs 2,760-3,080 per quintal.

Among millgate including duty section, sugar Kinnoni, Ramala and Nazibabad slipped Rs 40 each to Rs 3,060, Rs 2,780 and Rs 2,770, while Asmoli lost Rs 35 to Rs 3,025 per quintal.
 

Sugar Budhana, Dhanora, Simbholi, Modinagar and Baghpat dipped by Rs 25 each to Rs 2,915, Rs 2,875, Rs 3,035, Rs 2,890 and Rs 2,795 per quintal, respectively.

The following are today's quotations per quintal:

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 2,950-3,200, S-30 Rs 2,940-3,190.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,750-3,060; S-30 Rs 2,740-3,050.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 2925, Kinnoni 3,060, Asmoli 3,025, Dorala 2935, Budhana 2915, Thanabhavan 2905, Dhanora 2875, Simbholi 3,035, Modi Nagar Rs 2,890, Khatuli 3,040, Dhampur 2,860, Ramala 2,780, Bulandshar 2,880, Anupshar 2,750, Baghpat 2,795, Morna 2,790, Sakoti 2,850, Chandpur 2,835, Amroha N.T. And Nazibabad 2,770.
