Sugar holds steady in listless trade

Prices of both varieties of sugar -- small and medium -- ruled steady in an otherwise listless Vashi wholesale market here today due to lack of any worthwhile buying activity.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,685/2,782 (Rs 2,685/2,782).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,800/2,946 (Rs 2,800/2,946.
