Sugar prices tumbled by Rs 120 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following heavy supplies from mills amid low demand.
Marketmen said slackness in buying at prevailing levels by stockists and bulk consumers following end of wedding season coupled with increased supplies from mills, mainly weighed on sweetener prices.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices plunged by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,060-3,200 and Rs 3,050-3,190 per quintal.

In millgate section, sugar Anupshaher fell the most by Rs 120 to Rs 2,790 per quintal, followed by Ramala, Baghpat, Chandpur and Morna by Rs 110 each at Rs 2,800, Rs 2,810, Rs 2,840 and Rs 2,810 per quintal, respectively.
Sugar Dhanora, Simbholi and Khatuli too dropped by Rs 100 each to Rs 2,900, Rs 3,040 and Rs 3,000. Meanwhile, Kinnoni, Dorala, Thanabhavan and Budhana dropped by Rs 90 each at Rs 3,060, Rs 2,960, Rs 2,950 and Rs 2,960 per quintal.
