Sugar prices decline on subdued demand

Both the varieties of sugar prices declined at the Vashi wholesale sugar market here today due to sluggish demand from demand from stockist and bulk consumers on the back of adequate supplies.

Medium sugar (S-30) fell by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 3,226/3,391 from Monday's closing level of Rs 3,226/3,401.

Small sugar (S-30) also eased by Rs 6 per quintal to Rs 3,136/3,221 as against Rs 3,142/3,221 yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,136/3,221 (Rs 3,142/3,221.

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,226/3,391 (Rs 3,226/3,401).
