Sugar prices drifted by Rs 40 per quintal in the national capital today following plenty of stocks on regular supply from mills.
Marketmen said apart from heavy ready stocks position in the markets on fresh supply from mills mainly pulled down sweetner prices.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices dropped by Rs 10 each to settle at Rs 2,920-3,170 and Rs 2,910-3,160 per quintal.
Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices dipped by Rs 30 each to Rs 2,740-3,030 and Rs 2,730-3,020 per quintal.
Among millgate section, Sugar Simbholi, Dhampur and Nazibabad lost Rs 40 each to Rs 2,990, Rs 2,780 and Rs 2,770 per quintal, respectively.
Sugar Anupshar and Chandpur fell by Rs 30 each at Rs 2,740 and Rs 2,775 per quintal, while Khatuli slipped by Rs 25 at Rs 3,000 per quintal.
Prices of Asmoli, Dhanora, Ramala, Baghpat and Sakoti too moved down by Rs 20 each at Rs 3,000, Rs 2,815, Rs 2,780, Rs 2,810 and Rs 2,800 per quintal.
