Sugar prices strengthens on export offtake

Prices of both the varieties of sugar strengthened further at the Vashi wholesale market here today on strong stockist demand as well as good export offtake.

Small sugar (S-30) climbed by Rs 68/50 per quintal to Rs 2,460/2,532 from Monday's closing level of Rs 2,392/2,482.

Medium sugar (M-30) also rose by Rs 40/40 per quintal to Rs 2,510/2,622 as compared to Rs 2,470/2,582.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,460/2,532 (Rs 2,392/2,482).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,510/2,622 (Rs 2,470/2,582).
