Sugar rallies on consistent demand

Prices of both the varieties of sugar rallied further at the Vashi wholesale market here today following consistent demand from stockists and bulk consumers.

Small sugar (S-30) prices surged by Rs 220/150 per quintal to Rs 3,600/3,650 from Thursday's level of Rs 3,380/3,500.

Medium sugar (M-30) also advanced by Rs 240/152 per quintal to Rs 3,642/3,752 compared to Rs 3,402/3,600.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,600/3,650 (Rs 3,380/3,500).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,642/3,752 (Rs 3,402/3,600).
