Sugar recovers on renewed demand

Both the varieties of sugar prices recovered at the Vashi wholesale market here today on renewed stockists and retail demand amidst good offtake from millers.

Small sugar (S-30) climbed by the Rs 12 per quintal Rs 2,862/2,971 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 2,850/2,971.

Medium sugar (M-30) also moved-up by Rs 5 per quintal to Rs 3,001/3,222 as compared to Rs 2,996/3,222 previously.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,862/2,971 (Rs 2,850/2,971).

Medium sugar(M-30) quality: Rs 3,001/3,222 (Rs 2,996/3,222).
