Sugar remains weak on poor offtake, good supply

Sugar prices remained weak at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to sluggish demand from traders amid adequate supplies.

Medium sugar (M-30) dropped by Rs 90/10 per quintal to settle at Rs 3,192/3,432 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 3,282/3,442.

Small sugar (S-30) was quoted at Rs 3,126/3,270 per quintal as against Rs 3,126/3,271 yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,192/3,432 (Rs 3,282/3,442).

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,126/3,270 (Rs 3,126/3,271).
