Sugar rises on increased buying

Sugar prices improved by Rs 50 per quintal in the national capital today following increased buying by stockists amid tight supply.

Marketmen said pick up in demand pushed up sweetener prices.

Higher demand from softdrink and ice-cream makers further influenced the trading sentiment.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices enquired higher at Rs 3,350-3,540 and Rs 3,340-3,530 from Rs 3,300-3,500 and Rs 3,290-3,490 per quintal.

Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices asked higher at Rs 3,190-3,370 and Rs 3,170-3,360 instead of Rs 3,170-3,360 and Rs 3,150-3,350 per quintal.

Among millgate section, sugar mawana rose by Rs 30 at Rs 3,310 per quintal, while Asmoli and Budhana gained by Rs 20 each at Rs 3,320 and Rs 3,280 per quintal.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,350-3,540, S-30 Rs 3,340-3,530.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,190-3,370; S-30 Rs 3,170-3360.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 3,310, Kinnoni 3,370, Asmoli 3,320, Dorala 3,330, Budhana 3,280, Thanabhavan 3,270, Dhanora 3,250, Simbholi 3,340, Modi Nagar Rs 3,220, Khatuli 3,330, Dhampur 3,200, Ramala 3,250, Bulandshar 3,220, Anupshar 3,210, Baghpat 3,260, Morna 3,250, Sakoti 3,200, Chandpur 3,210 and Nazibabad 3,240.
