Sugar rules stable in lackluster trade

Prices of medium and small sugar varieties ruled stable in an otherwise lackluster Vashi wholesale market here today in the absence of any major buying activity as well as ample supply position.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,542/3,785 (Rs 3,542/3,785).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,650/3,896 (Rs 3,650/3,896).
